Heads Up
An IPad App (99 cents) to play. It would be good to build and review vocabulary. There are also other fun games to play.

Symbaloo
What a great way to create a page that students can easily access! This provides them websites that are great for their inquiry research, game websites, etc. This will be great to use with the classroom chrome books! :)

Trip to Orchard: Alissa Gray
I enjoyed watching Alissa use the technology in her room. I hadn't thought that I would be interested in the mimio votes, but have definitely changed my mind since watching her. I thought they were fantastic and can now see many different ways to incorporate them into the day across all subject areas. The only downfall would be the time it takes to create the quizzes/lessons. What a great way to keep kids actively engaged in learning and to be able to quickly assess their progress! I also enjoyed watching her use the mimio pad. I have a star board pad and haven't been able to use it much just simply due to me not knowing how to use it or where it would work best. I enjoyed her use of it with the vocabulary section of Lead 21. I thought the microphone/speaker system was also a great way to help keep the students engaged and to not have to yell or shout. The students were able to clearly hear her as she read aloud with them and seemed to be focused on their job. The classroom chrome book lab was fantastic. I have really grown to love the 5 chrome books that I have in my room and could totally see the benefits of having a classroom set. I think that it would be nice to write a grant and receive money for the mimio votes and/or more chrome books. I think they would be the most "bang for your buck" as far as technology, student engagement, and teacher use for observation and grading.
